Cyprus Dream Weddings asked one of our couples all about their big day

Congratulations to you both! My first question to you is how was your big day?

Quite simply this was the most amazing day of our lives. Everything we hoped it would be and a whole lot more.

Had you been to Cyprus before? 

Yes... we love the warm weather and we loved the thought that Paphos was such a romantic place.  We always wanted to get married abroad so researched the internet and agreed on Paphos even after looking at many countries around the world.

(if yes) what was it about Cyprus that made you get married here?

(if no) what made you take the plunge and get married in a country that you'd never been to?

As you know, Cyprus is a very popular place to get hitched - why did you decide to choose Cyprus Dream Weddings?

We researched the internet and found your very professional website. We were very impressed and then we also saw your company advertising in a wedding Expo magazine.

How did you feel letting us take care of your wedding?

It was so simply picking a “package” from your website and after our telephone conversations with you, we felt very happy knowing we were in capable hands.  You always have some worries about getting married abroad but you took them all away from us, even more so when we met you in Paphos.

How did you find planning your wedding over the internet/phone? Did you still feel involved in the process?

Dealing with you all was so easy. Your reply service to our emails was amazing and so detailed to the very last thing and whatever we wanted to know you could answer and help us with. 

What reception option did you decide on?

We chose the Platinum option.

Have you been, in any way, influenced by the wedding of a celebrity?

No, not at all... haha  Getting married abroad was always our plan. The Ocean Flyer yacht was a very exclusive way to have a reception though, so we did fell a bit like celebrities on it and all our family and friends where amazed by it.

Did you have any "Bridezilla" moments?

Haha, That would be telling....  every build up to a wedding has it’s little moments and I guess ours was no different but to be honest we didn’t have any “Bridezilla” or “Groomzilla” moments. J

What advice would you give to future couples planning to have their wedding abroad? Would you recommend it?

We would definitely recommend it... but then again does every place have wedding planners as good as you?   The advice we would give is do your research and do a lot of it.  We checked and double checked everything about the Paphos and about your company.  We also flew over to Paphos right at the beginning to meet you and that was great because you put all our fears to rest.  You will tell how good a wedding planner you by their service over the email and phone and Cyprus Dream Weddings was perfect.

What are your packing essentials for Cyprus?

Jess always loves her “Bug Spray”. No bride wants bites on the wedding day... and definitely good sun cream for everyone. We didn’t want to be red or burnt on our wedding pictures haha.

How many dresses did you look at before you found "the one"?

That’s a hard question... I would say about 20! Main priority was to look good but still be cool. J

Were there any surprises on your big day?

Paul sent me some lovely flowers in the morning and Paul’s Auntie & Cousin turned up which we where not expecting.  Apart from that, everything was quite smooth.

What were the highlights of the day?

(Paul’s highlights) So many to list all!  Being so calm with my best man and usher in the bedroom getting ready, then seeing Jess walking down the steps in Peyia looking like an angel... then the reception on the yacht was just out of this world.  Having every single family member and friend loving the 7 hours we had at sea.... what a party.

(Jess’s highlights) Hair and make-up... amazing, you know us girls we love a bit of attention.  Seeing my dad turn up to take me to Peyia and then seeing Paul at the alter to say our vows.  Turning up at the harbour and seeing the yacht from a distance all decorated with everyone waiting for us to start the party.

Did you have any family traditions/wants/expectations that you had to try and fit into your day and did you manage to do it?

We wanted the old style wedding but then a very modern reception.  You certainly found that for us.  Everything else was just like it would be back in England step by step, we just had amazing weather!

What was your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?

My something old was a gift from Paul on our first Christmas together over 8 years ago. Something new was my Wedding Dress and Shoes! I borrowed the tiara and my something blue was my little garter.

What was the funniest moment of your day?

A little 2 year old boy called Alfie who was the son of our friends dancing away to the Cypriot music we had playing on the yacht when we arrived from the wedding.  Then we would have to say as the party progressed, everyone else dancing on deck to our favourite iPod music as the drinks flowed haha.

Did you feel your photographs really caught the full emotion of your day?

The photographs... what can we say apart from they were just amazing. Everyone has said that are superb. So yes, the emotion was caught perfectly and the DVD film of it was the icing on the cake! Memories forever.

If you could describe your experience in 3 words, what would they be?

Emotional, Amazing & Unforgettable

Overall, now that you look back on planning your wedding and the day itself - was it your Cyprus Dream Wedding?

100% YES! J

And most importantly, now that the documents are signed....who's the boss?! :-)

Yikes!! What a question to finish on J  Jess is telling me to say me but there is no chance i’m doing that... so i guess that gives you your answer haha
