How did you first meet? We met at school, went right through schoool together and then got together when we left school.
How did the proposal happen? Paul organised a weekend trip to Barcelona, he proposed at the Magic Fountains of Montjuic, it was so lovely!
Why did you choose to get married in Cyprus, and what made you choose your venue? We chose Cyprus as it was all legal and we didn't have to get married in the UK first. Also because Cyprus is a beautiful place and it felt right to get married there. We chose Coral Residence as our venue because when we first seen it in the brochures that were shared with us, it looked exactly how we imagined the location for our wedding day. When we flew out to Cyprus in November 2024 to have a meeting with Lakis and view the venue, we fell in love. It was exactly what we wanted.
How far in advance did you book your wedding? We booked our wedding nearly 2 years in advance - August 2024

How many guests joined you in Paphos for your wedding? We had 88 guests join us for our wedding (73 adults and 15 children)
Tell us about your stunning dress, your shoes and accessories, and how long did it take you to find them? I got my dress from a small wedding dress shop in York very unexpectedly in December 2024. It was in the second store I tried and I really didn't like it on the mannequin, however as soon as I put it on it was definitely meant to be. I absolutely loved it and didn't want to take it off. The designer was also from Cyprus which felt surreal (Marguerite Hannah). My veil was also from the same wedding dress store, the lace finish really helped complete my look adding minor detail to a plain look. My shoes were Charlotte Mills, I bought these in July 2025. My earrings were a gift from my bridesmaids from Monica vinader, and my bracelet was a gift from the diamond store off my husband Paul.
Can you tell us about the finer details of the day, i.e. Wedding Cake, Hairdresser, Photographer etc. my hairdresser was Natalia Paris, she was brilliant, done exactly what I wanted for myself, bridesmaids and two mothers hairs, she was so lovely as well which made it so much easier. My makeup artist was makeup by Lauren, again she was so lovely and done my makeup better than I could have imagined. It is difficult when you have never had people do your hair and makeup before and the first time is for your wedding, but so lovely when they listen to exactly what you want and make you feel at ease.
Our photographer and videographers were Photo Papis and Sons, they were fantastic, took so many photos and didn't make it feel like we were forever away getting photographs taken. They made us feel so comfortable, we can't wait to receive our wedding video and relive our day.
Our wedding cake from rocknbake weddings was a simple Victoria sponge, decorated with palin icing and pearls. It tasted and looked amazing.
The smoke cannons after our ceremony were a real wow moment for our guests and makes the most amazing photos, this is something we were unsure on gettting but we are so pleased we did.
Sam Robinson sang at our cocktail reception, although we were away getting some photos we could hear everything and he was brilliant, so many of our guests have commented on how good he was.
We had singing waiters - the vocal couple perform during our meal. It was a real surprise for the guests and really got the party going and people involved. We are so pleased we added this to our day.
Victor Jazz Saxophone performed after our first dance, it was a real good party and all the guests got involved. Was exactly what we wanted.
All our entertainment were also so lovely which made it so much easier.
Mini Mania were fantastic for entertainment fir the children at our wedding. We had a bouncy castle, ball pit and soft play. The kids loved it and the staff that came with that were great, it gave the adults a little breathing time to enjoy themselves while they supervised the children.
And finally do Jason who kept the best music flowing, there was never a lull and he played exactly what we wanted. It really was a day we will never ever forget,
What was the highlight of your day? Seeing how much fun all our guests had, made me proud of what we achieved and that everyone in that room was there to celebrate us and our love
How did you find the planning experience, from booking to the big day itself? Found parts stressful, but enjoyed every second, planning with Lakis really eased the process, would do it all again tomorrow if I could. Really has made me rethink my career, it is something that I would love to do
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms who are getting married abroad? Stay calm, trust the process, don't be afraid to ask questions because you get the best answers back, enjoy every second and don't hesitate when choosing things that you want to be included in your day. You only do it once so have what you want. Take in every second of the day because it really does fly by.
Planning the Wedding What was the most exciting part of planning your wedding? Seeing our vision come together at the end. Was so much more than we could have ever imagined, and spending that day with all our favourite people, our family and friends. Were you nervous about planning a destination wedding? We were slightly, as we didn't feel completely in control. But we had total faith in Lakis and the way the day turned out proved that. Was the best decision we made.How did our team help make the process easier? They fully explained all the legal side of things, always helped with any questions and queries, made the planning so much easier by taking on a lot of the tasks involved and on the day any issues or things you think you would need pro keep a check on was done by the team. The team getting in contact with all suppliers also made it so much easier as they already had contact with them. What was your favourite part of the planning journey? Choosing all the small things to help make the day come together. Choosing our singers and entertainment and all the accessories to bring our vision to life.
The Wedding Day How did you feel when you woke up on your wedding day? Extremely excited, but slightly nervous. I just couldn't wait for all the planning to come to life and marry my childhood sweetheart. What was the most memorable moment of the day? Seeing each other at the aisle, and the smoke cannons after we were married after first kiss, makes a beautiful picture. What was your first reaction when you saw each other at the ceremony? Tears from us both, nervousness had gone and we couldn't wait for the rest of our day What was your favourite part of the ceremony or celebration? There were too many we loved every part of our day, but probably our first dance, or later on when all our guests were up dancing with us and Victor our saxophonist
After the Wedding How would you describe your wedding day in three words? Beautiful, memorable, phenomenal What advice would you give to other couples planning a destination wedding? To not think twice about it, trust the process, trust your planners and enjoy every second. What memories will stay with you forever from your Cyprus wedding? Everything, how happy we were, all the people that celebrated with us, the great vibes we had all day, the brilliant entertainment we had from all our different suppliers, everything
Would you recommend Cyprus Dream Weddings to other couples? Why? Yes, 100%, they couldn't have made the process any easier for us. No question is ever too difficult for them and they put so much effort into every single part. It really is the best decision we made and Lakis made our day perfect for us.
