The wedding story of Charlotte & Scott Murray, 21st July 2026Liopetro

How did you first meet? Tinder ! The 19th November 2018 - we remember it like it was yesterday! We fell in love so quickly that we bought a house together and had a baby before our first anniversary!
How did the proposal happen? It happened on a first date anniversary 19th November 2021. It was on a beach in Fuerteventura, the same place we went on our very first holiday together.
Why did you choose to get married in Cyprus, and what made you choose your venue? Stunning island, guaranteed weather, and a fantastic package available from Cyprus Dream Weddings. We fell in love with the venue the second we visited! We’re still in awe of it now looking back at the photos and how perfect everything was.
How far in advance did you book your wedding? 16 months.
What made you choose Cyprus Dream Weddings to help plan your wedding? Initially the package price was great and there was a great selection of venues. So many in fact that we flew out specifically to see the venues we had shortlisted. After spending that day with Kasey, we were 100% sure we were choosing Cyprus Dream Weddings. I think we booked everything the same day when we got back to our hotel!
How many guests joined you in Paphos for your wedding? 50
Tell us about your stunning dress, your shoes and accessories, and how long did it take you to find them? I had originally decided on a knee length ivory dress even before choosing the venue, I just saw it online and thought “that’s me” so I bought it! But after visiting Liopetro and confirming, I knew the dress I’d chosen just wouldn’t do it justice. It needed to be regal. I didn’t want to spend the typical thousands on a dress but my cousin and auntie convinced me to go to a bridal boutique. We booked in at Olive and Rose, just around the corner from where I live. Scott and I had been walking past for months on our daily dog walk and there was a dress in the window I kept saying to myself “I have to try that on”! So when I arrived and saw it hanging up, it was the first on my list to try on, along with maybe 6 more. The second I tried it on, I knew it was THE ONE. I tried the others and none of them made me feel like the first one. So that was that, plus the experience that Carly and Bernie gave us was so special! Little did Scott know he’d seen it in the window but obviously he didn’t remember it haha. It was a very thick material, which is a crazy choice for Paphos and my seamstress just managed to get it in the CDW dress box, it was in, but with a bust handle so I had to fashion one out of ribbon haha. It was so worth it, I felt like a queen on the day and I have no regrets on the style I went for even though it was hot. My dress was called “Peony” by GAIA. Which of course made me need peonies as our wedding flowers!
Can you tell us about the finer details of the day, i.e. Wedding Cake, Hairdresser, Photographer etc. We took a long time to decide on all our decor, the CDW brochure is so extensive, we had to put blocks of time out of an evening to focus on going through it to get it absolutely right, we (I, haha) had a vision in mind of what I wanted it to look like, and the fact there is so much to choose from is amazing. They’ve got everything you could ever want and more, things you wouldn’t have even thought of! The vision was definitely pulled off by the teams involved and the black and white theme was the best decision ever, the venue looked stunning and our photographs look like a magazine shoot! - huge thank you to Raisa our photographer and Lisa our content creator.
Kasey sent us a list of vendors to choose from for each part of the package along with their social media profiles so we could look to see who we thought fitted in with our vibe best and we can’t fault any of them. The makeup artist and hairdresser came to the hotel in the days before the wedding to do trials which was great! Kerry and Laura from CDW went through everything with a fine tooth comb at the pre-wedding meeting, as well as introducing us to the venue owners and confirming things with them like the seating plan, welcome drinks etc.
Kerry and Laura took all of the extra decor we’d brought with us to Paphos and laid it out on the day exactly as we wanted and just made sure the day went to plan 100%.
What was the highlight of your day? We honestly can’t choose a highlight, it was just like a dream, it flowed perfectly, everyone was SO happy. The venue, drinks, food, vibes, music we chose, cocktail hour with sax player, first dance floor fireworks, and everything in between was just magical.
How did you find the planning experience, from booking to the big day itself?
The whole wedding journey was great. From first viewing the venues with Kasey, to setting the date and finalising the booking. Regular contact and updates were really helpful. Lots of communication when payments were made or new ideas and requests were added to the planner. When we found out Kasey wouldn’t be able to make our big day, after being such a big part of the plans, we were initially a bit sad. However, Kasey’s handover was seamless, nothing was missing and having Kerry and Laura on the day was amazing. It proved to us that everyone at CDW is exceptional no matter who you work with.
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms who are getting married abroad?
Stay together for the whole day
Take the evening clothes!
Take the time to plan your playlist - our DJ was amazing and got our vibe straight away from the songs we’d already sent over and asked him to play
Get a content creator - we chose Lisa at Social Butterfly Weddings - what a woman
You don’t need to put on a free bar - people will budget to pay for their drinks like they would any other “night out” and be fine with it.
Don’t forget the sewing kit! My dress strap popped off, luckily it was fitted enough to stay up.
Don’t get drunk - not having a hangover and remembering every minute of the best day of your life is a pretty amazing feeling! Plenty of opportunities the rest of the holiday to do that!
Bring hangers for dresses getting steamed
Don’t forget to budget the town hall fee so it’s separate to your holiday spending money
Pay for the open top bus return journey - topped off our night

Planning the Wedding What was the most exciting part of planning your wedding?
Mini holiday to Paphos to look at venues. Choosing the dress, decor, songs.
Were you nervous about planning a destination wedding? No, we always knew we wanted to get married abroad, thankfully CDW made it so seamless.
How did our team help make the process easier?
Kasey’s attention to detail is insane, she makes sure not a thing is missed. We didn’t stress once.
The Wedding DayHow did you feel when you woke up on your wedding day? Surprisingly calm to start with, then the anxiety kicked in whilst getting ready. I am an anxious person unfortunately but even though I was struggling with it, I didn’t let it affect my morning. Thankfully the fun took over! - Charlotte
Excited, not nervous at all but a bit of a rabbit in the headlights. - Scott

What was the most memorable moment of the day?
Kerry saying “it’s 4.03, we’re going to walk now” eeeeeeeeek!!! - Charlotte
Walking into the venue, the panic and excitement of realising it’s my wedding! Seeing our names on the welcome sign! - Scott
Plus many, many more beautiful moments which we’ll never forget.
What was your first reaction when you saw each other at the ceremony?
I might pass out before I get to him haha but I couldn’t stop smiling. My anxiety melted away when I held his hand - Charlotte
Just ecstatic - Scott
After the Wedding How would you describe your wedding day in three words? Magical, insane, perfect.
What memories will stay with you forever from your Cyprus wedding?
The most memorable and special time with our closest friends and family. The joy we felt simultaneously on the day was the most special experience we will treasure forever. It’s hard to put into words just how it felt.
Would you recommend Cyprus Dream Weddings to other couples? Why?
Absolutely! For a seamless, stress free experience, we couldn’t recommend Cyprus Dream Weddings enough. The sheer amount of stress that was eliminated with things such as booking suppliers, organising the day, decor etc - this cannot be underestimated. Any fees were clearly communicated by Kasey early on, which was important for us being so organised. We were able to get excited about our big day from the get go, which meant over a year of nothing but excitement. Cyprus Dream Weddings do all the heavy lifting so you can relax and it’s thanks to them that our wedding day was flawless. Kerry was a wonder woman on the day, helping set up, ensuring everything was running on time, emotional support when I was having a wobble and got involved with all of our guests and hyped them up (not that they needed it! haha) before our entrance as husband and wife. Kerry then hand delivered our marriage certificates to us at our hotel a couple of days later. We appreciated the honest, efficient and genuine nature of the 3 ladies we worked with to create the most important, memorable day of our lives, we can’t thank you all enough!
